Springfree vs Kahuna

These two brands sit at opposite ends of the market: Springfree's cheapest model costs more than Kahuna's most expensive one.

The extra pays for longer published warranties and models that meet the Australian Trampoline Standard AS 4989:2015. Springfree is springless, using fibreglass rods under the mat, meets AS 4989:2015 across the range, and provides 10-year frame, mat and net warranties. Kahuna uses coil springs, has no model listed as meeting the Australian standard, and provides 1-year warranties on all three parts.

Kahuna does hold one advantage: its larger models are rated to 150 kg per jumper against 100 kg on full-size Springfree models. Both brands make oval trampolines for narrow yards; Springfree also makes square ones and goes considerably larger at the top of its range.

Choose Springfree if you want a springless trampoline that meets the standard, with a long warranty, and are prepared to pay for it. Choose Kahuna if you need a full-size enclosed trampoline in the yard for a few hundred dollars.

Springfree is built and warranted to last a decade. Kahuna is an inexpensive trampoline that suits families with young children and a firm budget. The decision is mostly about how much you want to spend.
