Springfree and ACON are both premium brands, and both cost well above the Australian average. They disagree about what sits under the mat. Springfree uses flexible fibreglass rods and no springs. ACON uses conventional coil springs, with high spring counts aimed at a strong, responsive bounce.

Both are long-term purchases. Choose Springfree if removing springs is the reason for the spend; its warranty also applies to more parts for longer. ACON suits a household that wants a conventional performance bounce, a high spring count or a rectangular mat.
